Canal d’Hermillon dam: Cleaning with LISIE

The Canal d’Hermillon dam, located on the Arc river at Saint-Julien-Mont-Denis in Savoie, is an essential hydraulic structure built in 1974. With a length of 2,420 meters and a height of 18.5 meters, it holds back a volume of water of 370,000 m³. Watertracks carried out two crucial cleaning operations on this site using its LISIE robot: cleaning the gallery and cleaning the cofferdam, each responding to specific infrastructure challenges.

Tunnel Cleaning: A Delicate Mission in a Confined Environment

The gallery cleaning operation, one of the most complex, required the use of the LISIE robot, specially designed to work in confined spaces close to sensitive civil engineering structures. Thanks to its compact design and great agility, LISIE was able to move inside the dam gallery. This enabled it to evacuate sediment from even the most confined areas, without the depth of the water affecting its productivity. The robot was thus able to carry out the cleaning with precision, ensuring the continued operation of the gallery while minimizing the impact on the immediate environment.

Curage du Batardeau: An Operation in Reduced Space

LISIE’s other task was to clean out the dam’s cofferdam, a structure vital to water flow management. Working in an even more limited space, LISIE demonstrated its efficiency thanks to its two types of caterpillar, which enable it to move easily over varied terrain. Its ability to push sediment to the surface, even in difficult conditions, enabled the area to be cleaned quickly and efficiently.
