Removal of over 300,000 m³ of sediments from the Flumet reservoir
Flumet reservoir
A few months ago, SUPER NESSIE dove for the first time into the waters of the Flumet reservoir, an emblematic EDF facility for energy storage in the form of water, with an ambitious mission: to restore its hydraulic capacity and support the site’s performance.
After 4 and a half months of underwater operations, the mission has been successfully completed: over 300,000 m³ of sediment were removed, marking the end of this first robotized dredging campaign.
This achievement is above all human and collective: that of the Watertracks teams, of our technical partners, and of an exemplary partnership with EDF, based on trust, transparency and innovation.
Beyond the results, this campaign illustrates a new approach to sustainable, automated sediment management, serving the performance, longevity and safety of hydraulic infrastructures.
To be continued, with the next three campaigns scheduled from April to August 2026, 2027 and 2028.
A presentation film retraces this technological and environmental adventure – Watch below.
